Located in Compton, in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, Ferme Breault et Frères inc. is a third-generation dairy farm with more than 1,800 acres under cultivation and 600 lactating cows. Operated by three brothers and a cousin, Patrick, William, Charles, and Mickaël, the farm now ranks among the most productive in Quebec. This performance is driven by a constant pursuit of optimization across all farming operations. For the Breault family, success in agriculture is never left to chance; it is built on the guidance of trusted advisors, high-performance equipment, and, above all, a deep commitment to continuous improvement as farmers. Every decision is part of a long-term agricultural vision aimed at optimizing all farm activities, with each investment contributing sustainably to operational efficiency and animal well-being.

It was therefore only natural for the family to turn to a high-performance solution when the time came to upgrade their heating system, with the goal of providing a healthy and comfortable environment for their animals, particularly newborn calves. Biomass heating quickly emerged as an ecological and reliable solution, well-suited to their agricultural reality. The farm invested in a fully automated Hargassner Eco HK 330 biomass boiler, fueled by wood chips through an automatic feed system requiring no manual filling. Offering optimal combustion, high efficiency, and great versatility, the system meets a wide range of needs, including heating multiple buildings, such as a large garage and two calf barns, preheating water in the milking parlour, and soon, grain drying.

What initially attracted the Breault family to this system was its ability to provide dry, consistent heat, an important advantage over propane, whose combustion generates higher humidity levels. By ensuring stable and comfortable ambient conditions, the farm directly supports animal health and well-being, resulting in positive impacts on productivity. This solution also allows for better control of energy costs and aligns with a sustainable approach by leveraging a renewable energy source produced directly on the farm.

To bring this project to life, the Breault family was able to rely on the expertise of Chaudières RP Inc. Operating in Montreal, Montérégie, Estrie, Centre-du-Québec, and Chaudière-Appalaches, their team assists agricultural producers with the implementation of modern biomass heating solutions. They also provide biomass supply and offer a customizable chipping service with flexible packages tailored to each situation. With a wide range of available models, these heating systems can meet the needs of all agricultural sectors, from heating buildings and greenhouses to nurseries, poultry houses, milking parlours, and maple syrup operations. Chaudières RP Inc. supports agricultural, industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional projects, making it the ideal team for entrepreneurs seeking sustainable performance!
