A Versatile Building for Ferme Repau et fils

In Saint-Adelphe, in the Mauricie region, diversification is part of everyday life at Ferme Repau et fils. Now operated by the third generation, the family farm is run by Stéphane Lamy alongside his partner Karine and his father Renald, who remains actively involved and always ready to lend a hand. The farm combines several activities: dairy farming, maple syrup production and, during the winter months, residential snow removal. Their herd stands at roughly 90 head, including 44 milking cows, while their sugar bush has 2,600 taps. Come winter, three tractors and a pickup truck keep their residential snow clearing operations running smoothly. This diversification enables Ferme Repau et fils to remain active and productive year-round.

By spring 2026, however, a pressing need had emerged. For more than 15 years, around twenty of their heifers were being housed off-site due to a lack of space at the main farm. The goal was clear: bring the animals back home and build the necessary housing for them. In April 2026, Ferme Repau et fils purchased a 65 ft x 120 ft Norseman fabric-covered building. Rather than simply addressing the need for additional housing for the heifers, the farm decided to think bigger. The building’s footprint was doubled to incorporate storage space for farm machinery as well. The result: a single structure serving two distinct purposes, making optimal use of the available space.
